Compute Resources

TrAC focuses on advancing core AI research and translating it into real-world applications across multiple domains. To support this, the center provides access to extensive high-performance computing resources, including ISU’s Nova HPC cluster and NSF-funded supercomputers through XSEDE, along with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and NVIDIA. TrAC also offers onboarding, training, and assistance with securing large-scale compute allocations and grants, as well as guidance on GPU procurement. In addition, the center supports researchers with GPU-accelerated AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras, and provides access to a wide range of professional software tools for engineering, simulation, design, and collaboration, enabling comprehensive support for cutting-edge AI research and development.

Pre-Award Resources

TrAC (led by Jessica Bell – jmpbell@iastate.edu and Melissa Gagne) provides comprehensive pre-award support for faculty proposals, including budget preparation, document submission, personnel documentation, letters of support, and coordination with grants offices. They also offer team science support to help build strong, collaborative proposals. In addition, TrAC supports broader impacts for NSF and other proposals through programs such as undergraduate research experiences, workforce development and micro-credential training, and initiatives like Working in Agriculture and AI. For support or inquiries, faculty can contact Jessica Bell at jmpbell@iastate.edu or Jason Wiegand at jwiegand@iastate.edu.

Post-Award Resources

TrAC focuses on advancing core AI research and its applications across multiple domains. In addition to research support, TrAC provides comprehensive post-award assistance, including project management services such as communication planning, meeting coordination, and reporting, as well as financial and accounting support like budget tracking, expense review, rebudgeting, and subaward management to ensure smooth execution throughout the project lifecycle.
